A new sports arena has opened on the grounds of a school in Oktyabrsky with nearly 1,800 schoolchildren. The sports facility was built with the support of Bashneft under the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The new multifunctional complex is designed for mini-football, volleyball, handball and hockey matches, as well as training sessions and various athletics activities. Regular classes, municipal competitions and training camps will be held here.
The arena features a multi-purpose playing field for summer sports, complete with injury-proof flooring. There are also designated areas for coaching staff and spectators, as well as modern running tracks. In winter, the arena becomes a hockey rink. Thanks to its powerful lighting system, the arena will be open even at night-time. The new complex meets the latest standards for sports facilities of this type.
Supporting mass, professional and youth sports and healthy lifestyles is one of the key areas of social work of Rosneft and its subsidiaries. The Company funds the construction of ice arenas, sports complexes and multi-purpose sports grounds in the regions of its operations. The Company supports events promoting physical culture and healthy lifestyles. It regularly holds corporate competitions.
Thanks to the Company’s support, over 30 sports facilities have opened in 16 districts of Bashkortostan since 2017. The largest include the ice palaces in Oktyabrsky, Kumertau and Tuymazy; the world-class skate park in Dyurtyuli; and the Spartak Stadium in Tuymazy, the largest sports facility in the western part of the republic. There is also a physical culture and health complex in Blagoveshchensk, as well as other facilities. In addition, 12 multifunctional sports and recreation centres have been built in districts and cities of the republic with the support of the Company.
