Rosneft Supports Sports Festival for Disabled Kids in Krasnoyarsk

25 March 2025

The Games on the Yenisei, a multi-sport inclusive festival for physically challenged children and young people, was organised in Krasnoyarsk by the Open Hearts NGO with financial support from Rosneft.

The tournament featured a mix of traditional and cutting-edge digital disciplines designed to suit different training levels. Over a hundred athletes from seven regions of the country competed in four sports: sledge hockey (a Paralympic version of classic hockey), alpine skiing, cyber sports and phygital sports. The festival also featured a GTO area where each participant could try their hand at passing standards of stamina, coordination and agility.

An important step in the development of adaptive disciplines was the launch of a new VR app for teaching and training sledge hockey. The application interface is adapted to the individual needs of sledge hockey players: with the help of VR glasses and special controllers, physically challenged athletes can improve their skills in a virtual environment and better prepare for real games.

RN-Vankor actively supports the development of adaptive sports in the region. Supported by the oil workers, the Red Lightning sledge hockey team is training and already showing success.

Sports development is one of the main aspects of Rosneft’s social policy. Rosneft also supports amateur sports and carries out extensive work to promote healthy lifestyles, both among its own employees and the population in the regions of operation. Rosneft finances the construction of ice rinks, sports centres and multifunctional sport venues.

For reference:

RN-Vankor LLC, a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company, is the operator of the Vostok Oil project in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory — in the Turukhansk District and Taymyr. It includes the Vankor field cluster (Vankor, Suzun, Tagul and Lodochnoye) and the Payakh field cluster in the north of the Krasnoyarsk region.
