Rosneft volunteers held an environmental event in Moscow’s Izmailovsky Park - a plogging run where employees collected rubbish.
The event was attended by more than 100 of the Company’s employees and their family members. The eco-volunteers covered a distance of more than 10 kilometres and collected almost 250 kg of garbage.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of Rosneft’s social policy. In 2024, the Company’s green investments totalled 74 billion roubles, which was a 16% increase on the previous year.
Plogging is an international environmental movement in which participants combine jogging with litter picking. As well as helping to improve the environment, the event brings people together, giving them a chance to spend time outdoors and recharge their batteries.
Volunteering is an important part of Rosneft’s corporate culture. Volunteers from the Company, its subsidiaries and design institutes are also actively involved in various environmental initiatives and contribute to the development of a culture of rational and responsible consumption of natural resources. Employees and their children participate in activities involving the planting of greenery, with a view to enhancing both urban and natural recreational areas, annual plogging runs, and shoreline cleanup. These activities form part of federal environmental campaigns such as Green Spring, Memory Garden, Water of Russia, Clean Shores, and others. Rosneft volunteers actively promote environmental education among young people, organising environmental quests, workshops, quizzes and eco-classes for schoolchildren.
Rosneft and its subsidiaries are highly recognised by the public for their successful environmental activities. Rosneft is recognised as the best oil and gas company to be included in the calculation base of the MosExchange-RAEX ESG Balanced Index for 2024. The Company’s enterprises in the Samara region also received top honours at the national «Leader of Environmental Protection in Russia» contest in 2024.
