Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft's key production assets, organised a Sky of Victory patriotic event in Nizhnevartovsk. Participants launched 200 kites bearing images of cranes above the River Ob as a tribute to those who defended the Motherland.
The event drew its emotional depth from an archival recording of the legendary song Zhuravli (Cranes). On the ground, the company's employees unfurled the St George Ribbon — one of the foremost symbols of the people's courage and resilience, and of the continuity between generations.
The event brought together people of different ages: company employees and their families, veteran oil workers, activists from the Movement of the First youth organisation, and college students. The venue was the Ob riverside embankment, which was reconstructed with the support of Samotlorneftegaz as part of Rosneft's cooperation with the Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra.
Rosneft and its subsidiaries organise and actively participate in patriotic events that promote the preservation of historical memory and the cultivation of civic responsibility. The company also supports initiatives aimed at reviving and safeguarding cultural, spiritual and national values, including those held under the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, as declared by the President of the Russian Federation.
Sky of Victory is among the first patriotic events marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War to be organised by Rosneft's enterprises across the majority of Russia's regions. The events are designed to pass on to younger generations the historical memory of the people's immortal feat in liberating the world from fascism.
