Effect of Introducing Energy-Efficient Technologies at RN-Yuganskneftegaz Exceeds 3 Billion Roubles

In 2025, RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft’s largest production asset, reduced its electricity consumption by 565 million kWh as a result of implementing energy-saving measures. This figure is 11% higher than last year’s. The monetary value of this reduction exceeded 3 billion roubles.
Following the gradual replacement of equipment over a number of years, more than 80% of centrifugal pump units now have energy-efficient valves and high-voltage electric motors. The introduction of new equipment and technologies in mechanised production saved 273 million kWh in 2025 alone. Modern pump units in particular, with increased efficiency, reduced consumption by more than 97 million kWh.
Other effective measures in mechanised production include installing electric centrifugal pumps equipped with gas separators to reduce energy consumption, using low-energy-loss transformers, and optimising submersible cable cross-sections.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz’s implementation of measures to reduce energy consumption in the maintenance of reservoir pressure, the preparation of primary oil and the supply of electricity and heat has resulted in savings of 9,000 tonnes of fuel equivalent.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz operates a unified energy management system which successfully passed a recertification audit in accordance with GOST R ISO 50001-2023 in 2025.
The enterprise is developing a culture of energy conservation. Over the course of the year, 115 employees underwent training in energy conservation and efficiency. Employees provide feedback and promote best practices in this area.
Energy efficiency criteria are taken into account when designing, reconstructing or modernising industrial and social facilities, and purchasing materials.
Improving the efficiency of production assets is one of the key elements of Rosneft 2030 Strategy. The Company and its subsidiaries work systematically to rationalise the use of energy resources and reduce energy consumption, optimising electrical loads and thermal processes.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz is a key asset for Rosneft, accounting for around 30% of the Company’s total production. It is involved in geological exploration and field development across 40 licence areas totalling over 21,000 square kilometres in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra.
