With the support of Bashneft (Rosneft subsidiary), a central district library has opened in the village of Verkhnie Tatyshly, the administrative centre of the Tatyshlinsky District in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The enterprise funded the large-scale upgrade of the library as part of the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the region.
Rosneft actively supports projects aimed at creating favourable living conditions and promote culture and education in the regions where it operates.
The Verkhnetatyshlinsk library has undergone overhaul of its façade, with upgrades to the heating, electrical and water supply systems, and interior refurbishment. The library now features modern public spaces, including a multifunctional hall and conference room, a “Literary Relaxation Room”, a creative workshop, a “BibliOtdykh” zone, and a phytobar. The library fund exceeds 30,000 items. In addition to traditional printed editions, there are books with augmented reality features, as well as Braille books for blind and visually impaired people.
Visitors to the library will have access to free wireless internet and computers. A variety of digital equipment has been installed for children, including an interactive touchscreen kiosk, interactive floor, table and sandpit, as well as a virtual reality complex. An animation studio equipped with specialised television and sound equipment also began operating.
Particular attention has been paid to creating a barrier-free, accessible environment. A ramp and a tactile floor plan of the premises have been installed at the entrance, and tactile tiles and signs have been laid. Visitors with hearing impairments can use a portable induction loop system to communicate with staff.
Before upgrading, the two-storey library building, which was constructed in the 1980s, did not comply with health, hygiene and ergonomic requirements. It is now a modern cultural and educational centre that is regularly visited by over 5,000 people. The centre is equipped with modern climate control equipment, fire and security alarms, and a video surveillance system.
A significant amount of work has been carried out to improve the area. A monument has been erected in honour of Angam Atnabayev, the national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan, who was a Tatar and Bashkir poet and playwright from the Tatyshlinsky district. Benches have also been installed and flower beds have been laid out.
Over the past five years, Bashneft has built and upgraded over 50 cultural institutions in Bashkortostan. The largest of these include a cultural centre in the Askino village in the Askinsky district, a social and cultural centre in the Kamenka village in the Bizhbulyaksky district, a historical and cultural centre in the Mishkinsky district, and a multifunctional rural cultural centre in the Karayar village in the Karaidelsky district.
For reference:
