Rosneft and the Ulyanovsk Region Strengthen Cooperation in Car Tourism

05 June 2026

Rosneft and the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk Region have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to promote domestic tourism at the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The document enhances the continued strategic partnership to create comfortable conditions for car travelers and promote the tourism potential of the Ulyanovsk Region. The parties have agreed to deliver joint projects in domestic tourism and expand the range of travel services at Rosneft gas stations.

Rosneft and the Ulyanovsk Region have been actively collaborating to boost car tourism starting from November 2023. Since then, a number of major projects and initiatives have been delivered including the development of four unique car routes across the region: The Shore of Stories, Mountains and Steppes, The Volga Sea Valley, and The Picturesque Land. The routes are integrated with the Rosneft information and service platform called Horizons of Russia: Come with Us!

Each route provides a chance tor travelers to discover local traditions, amazing nature, and cultural heritage of the Ulyanovsk Region. Travellers are encouraged to unravel the mysteries of the Jurassic period at the Undoria Geopark, marvel at the endless expanse of the Volga River, and explore the Sengileev Mountains National Park. They can also get inspired at the homeland of the painter Arkady Plastov, climb Nikolskaya Mountain, and visit the museum of Vasily Zuev, one of the most prominent artists at the Fabergé jewelry house and the artist who painted the miniatures on the famous Easter eggs for the Romanov royal family.

All routes pass through Rosneft gas stations, where travellers can fuel their cars, enjoy a snack, and rest for a while.

Rosneft is consistently developing its roadside service network, viewing gas stations as an important aspect of the tourism infrastructure. The extended agreement with the Ulyanovsk Region emphasizes the Company long-term commitment to support the national Tourism and Hospitality Project and create favorable conditions for travel throughout Russia.

For reference:

Rosneft retail network is the largest in Russia, with around 3,000 gas stations in 62 regions of the country, in Abkhazia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and South Ossetia as well.

The Russian Horizons platform enable car travellers to select and plan their routes to various places of interest using Rosneft roadside services and gas stations. Due to the unique navigation functionality, all points of interest become stops along the route that drivers can create and modify at any time during their trip. Since 2023, the Company, together with its partners, has introduced over 50 routes running through 24 regions of the country.
