At the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft has signed a trilateral agreement with Tsinghua University (China) and Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU) to develop cooperation in personnel training.
The document was signed by Igor Sechin, Rosneft Chief Executive Officer, Oleg Baulin, Rector of USPTU, and Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University.
The agreement envisages the training of the Company's employees under joint educational programs of USPTU and Tsinghua University in the following areas: digitalization, artificial intelligence and new technologies in the oil and gas industry, management of research, technical and innovation activities, localization of production, climate projects, etc.
In 2026–2027, the years that have been designated as the Years of Russia-China Cooperation in Education by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the agreement is deemed of outmost strategic importance. Its implementation will contribute to the development of a long-term mutually beneficial partnership between Rosneft, Tsinghua University, and USPTU, and will provide the Company and the oil industry with skilled personnel.

Since 2021, the Company and Tsinghua University have been actively developing their cooperation under agreements signed, engaging Russian partner universities—USPTU and MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Joint programs for advanced training, professional re-training, and corporate MBA program modules for the Company's executives and specialists are implemented as part of this collaboration.
Rosneft and USPTU have been developing cooperation in personnel training and in research and innovation areas for more than 25 years. USPTU is one of the leading technical universities in Russia and has the status of a regional flagship university in Russia. In addition, the University is the only oil and gas university in Russia included in the special section of the Priority 2030 federal project.
With the support of the Company, the Rosneft - USPTU Research and Educational Center was established at the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum. The university has 11 base and graduate departments that implement educational programs for Rosneft subsidiaries.
