With the support of Komsomolsk refinery (part of Rosneft), a modern sports facility has been set up on the grounds of School No. 27, which has specialised Rosneft Classes. The project was implemented as part of cooperation between the Company and the Government of Khabarovsk Territory.
The solemn ceremony was attended by representatives of the city administration and Komsomolsk refinery management, as well as schoolchildren and city residents. The first friendly basketball match between students of Rosneft Classes and students of specialized disciplines took place at the new facility. Performances by creative groups added to the festive atmosphere.
The multi-purpose facility includes a zone for several team sports—volleyball, handball, futsal, badminton, and basketball—along with an area equipped with fitness machines for strength training and workout pull-up bars. Covering a total area of 760 square metres, the grounds are surfaced with a special buffer coating and feature a protective fence.
Previously, School No. 27 did not have its own stadium, so the new facility will serve as a great incentive for athletic achievements among children from this and nearby schools, as well as a focal point for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts. In the future, district and city tournaments for local residents of all ages are planned to be held here.
The opening of the sports facility is part of the socially responsible policy of Komsomolsk refinery. The oil company workers regularly host mass health and wellness events for residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur and nearby settlements. Earlier, factory volunteers completely renovated the open-air sports stadium of Lyceum No. 33, where specialized Rosneft Classes are also operating.
Rosneft actively supports the development of grassroots, professional, and youth sports, as well as a healthy lifestyle. The Company funds the construction of sports complexes, arenas and multi-purpose sports grounds in the regions of its operations. With Rosneft's support, dozens of modern large-scale sports facilities have been opened in Russia.
