Specialists at Rosneft’s Scientific Institute in Ufa are continuing to successfully implement the EchoTools software—the first Russian-developed software to use artificial intelligence to determine the fluid level and the speed of sound in the shell side of a well. Based on the data obtained, the bottom-hole pressure is calculated, and the optimal operating conditions are selected to maximise well capacity.

During the first half of 2026, the software was used to analyse data from over 2,000 wells. A ranking was compiled of more than 500 wells targeted for operational optimisation to increase production. As a result of the implemented measures, total daily crude production increased by 114 metric tons.

The key advantage of EchoTools is its high data processing speed: on average, the programme analyses more than 10,000 well data indicators in two minutes. Running similar calculations manually would take more than three days.

Implementing advanced digital solutions remains one of the key pillars of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy.
