Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security, believes that today Russia is the guarantor of global energy security and the country cannot be excluded from global supply chains.
"Our country has the world's largest oil and gas reserves, amounting to approximately 60 billion tons of oil equivalent , or 14% of global reserves. Our country ranks fifth in the world in terms of coal reserves," he stated, speaking with a keynote report at the Energy Panel during the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Russia cannot be excluded from global supply chains.
"Against the backdrop of recent developments in the global oil industry, Russia's economic partnership with China and India guarantees stable supplies to both countries. Russian oil supplies bring tangible economic benefits to our partners. Since April 2022, its combined value for China and India has exceeded 40 billion dollars," Sechin emphasized.
