Rosneft volunteers from across the country took part in the international Garden of Remembrance campaign, planting over 144,000 trees to serve as a reminder to future generations of their ancestors’ immortal deeds during the Great Patriotic War.
Preserving historical memory is an integral part of the Company’s corporate culture. As part of the Platform for Good Deeds programme, Rosneft employees regularly participate in volunteering initiatives to commemorate the heroic fight of the Soviet people against fascism.
As part of the Garden of Remembrance initiative, Udmurtneft volunteers planted over 119,000 young pine trees together with local residents in the Yaksur-Bodinsky District of the Udmurt Republic.
Elsewhere, volunteers from Orenburgneft joined students from the Movement of the Firsts to plant over 4,000 pine saplings in the Buzuluk Forest National Park, an area affected by wildfires. Enterprise staff also delivered an environmental education session for young people. Samaranneftegaz and Kuibyshev Refinery activists planted over 4,000 pine saplings in the Krasnoyarsky Forest District of the Samara Region. These evergreen plants will provide reliable protection for the soil against erosion.
Employees of RN-Uvatneftegaz in the Tyumen Region planted 3,000 pine saplings at the site of a major fire in the Tyumen Forest District. Meanwhile, specialists from Rosneft’s Tomsk Design Institute and residents of the Tomsk Region planted over 9,000 conifer trees in the Golovina settlement.
Staff from the Company’s enterprises in Irkutsk — Verkhnechonskneftegaz, Irkutsknefteprodukt and AngaraNeft — joined the initiative with their families, planting over 2,000 pine saplings near the Ust-Baley settlement in the Irkutsk District. All participants in the campaign received training in agricultural techniques to ensure the seedlings took root successfully.
In the Moscow Region, Sibintech employees and local residents planted 1,600 spruce saplings in the Novoierusalimsky Forest District.
In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, RN-Nyaganneftegaz activists planted pines on the Alley of Glory in Nyagan. In the Khabarovsk Territory, employees and veterans of the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery supported the initiative. Alongside young people from the Movement of the Firsts and pupils from Rosneft Classes, they planted an avenue of apple trees in the Park of Labour Glory in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
The Company’s marketing enterprises also joined the Garden of Remembrance initiative.
Activists from Voronezhnefteprodukt planted 1,500 pine trees in the Prigorodny Forest District of the Voronezh Region, an area which had been affected by wildfires. Volunteers from Bryansknefteprodukt planted coniferous trees on the grounds of the Partizanskaya Polyana memorial complex in the Bryansk region. Rosneft Stavropolye specialists have planted trees in the grounds of nurseries and schools in the Stavropol Territory.
Rosneft’s regional enterprises organise annual patriotic events aimed at preserving historical memory, strengthening intergenerational ties, and fostering patriotism.
