Following the implementation of energy-saving measures in 2025, Samaranneftegaz (part of Rosneft's oil production complex) reduced its energy consumption by 54 million kWh, yielding an economic benefit of around 288 million roubles.
The enterprise has implemented over 2,000 initiatives under the programme, the majority of which involve the introduction of innovative equipment and energy-saving technologies in mechanised mining operations and at key production infrastructure sites. The well system is equipped with submersible electric centrifugal pumps offering high efficiency, high-voltage electric engines and energy-efficient transformers.
One of the key areas of focus is optimising the energy consumption of the pump units used in the reservoir pressure maintenance system, which is one of the most energy-intensive types of equipment. Following the modernisation of the pumps at a number of sites, their capacity increased from 180 m³/h to 240 m³/h, resulting in energy savings of over 4 million kWh.
The results of the energy management system audit conducted in 2025 confirmed the effectiveness of Samaraneftegaz's systematic approach in this area, including the continuous monitoring of energy consumption.
Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key priorities of Rosneft's strategy. The Company's enterprises take consistent measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption, as well as to optimise grid loads and heat processes.
For reference:
Samaraneftegaz, a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company, is engaged in production operations in Samara and Orenburg regions.
Since the commencement of field development in 1936, the enterprise's cumulative production has surpassed 1.3 billion tonnes of oil.
