Rosneft's enterprises at the Samara production site have supported an educational initiative to create an album dedicated to the rare white-tailed eagle. The publication draws on ornithological research conducted by specialists at the Samarskaya Luka National Park under the Company's grant programmes, with the aim of preserving the population of a bird listed in both the Red Book of Russia and the International Red List.
Researchers adapted the findings of years of fieldwork into materials suitable for broad educational use. The project resulted not only in the collection and systematic analysis of data valuable for the conservation of this bird of prey, but also in the creation of a thematic album designed to foster environmental awareness among younger generations.
The atlas is available in both print and digital formats and can be used in biology and geography lessons, as well as in extracurricular activities and student research projects. Children from schools across the city and the region will now have access to engaging facts about the lifestyle of one of the largest birds in the Volga region — the white-tailed eagle. The atlas also includes practical guidance for young naturalists on observing birds in the wild. Copies have been distributed to city libraries and educational institutions, expanding the range of teaching materials and resources available to educators and environmental activists.
Educational initiatives form an integral part of Rosneft's corporate culture. The Company implements comprehensive programmes for the preservation of biodiversity and the restoration of natural resources across the regions where it operates, and actively engages young people in conservation efforts. Rosneft volunteers organise ecological quests, workshops, festivals, quizzes, and environmental lessons for schoolchildren.
