Bashneft (Rosneft subsidiary) became the official partner of one of the largest sporting events in Bashkortostan: the 10th Ufa International Marathon.

A record number of participants took part in the annual marathon in Ufa: 10,000 people from 30 countries and 220 Russian cities. Professionals and amateurs ran one of the following distances: 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km and 42.2 km. At the finish line, each athlete received an exclusive medal, and the fastest runners were presented with memorable prizes.

The Bashneft team won the corporate marathon. The Company’s athletes traditionally win prizes in various age categories. This year, Ekaterina Gushchina took first place in the 14+ category over 5 km, and Vladimir Makarov, who is also an employee of Bashneft-Dobycha, won bronze in the 50–59 category over 10 km. Gulnara Badamshina of Bashneft-UNPZ also performed well, winning silver in the 55–59 age group over 21 km.

Activists from the Movement of the Firsts also tested their strength over a distance of 200 metres. Alongside the festival guests, they took part in sporting and intellectual competitions at Bashneft’s dedicated venue, including a quiz about the history of Bashkir oil and a photo competition on social media, with prizes for the winners.

Supporting mass, professional and youth sports, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles, is one of the key areas of social work of Rosneft and its subsidiaries.

Thanks to Bashneft’s support, over 30 sports facilities have opened in 16 districts of Bashkortostan since 2017. These include an ice palace in Kumertau, Tuymazy and Oktyabrsky, a world-class skate park in Dyurtyuli, and the Spartak Stadium in Tuymazy — the largest sports facility in western Bashkortostan. Six training pitches have also opened in the Blagoveshchensky district at the Ufa Falcon Sports Centre. A modern fitness and recreation centre, the Zhemchuzhina, has been built in Bulgakovo village in the Ufa district. Furthermore, ten multifunctional sports and recreation centres have been constructed in various districts and cities across the republic with Bashneft’s support.
