The Rosneft Future Festival has come to a close at the Higher School of Management of St. Petersburg State University. The event attracted 500 students from over 60 universities nationwide.
Since 2009, Rosneft has been running the Rosneft Future programme to attract talented young people to the Company and develop an external talent pool. The programme popularises engineering and technical specialities by immersing participants in current issues in the development of the oil and gas industry and introducing them to innovative technologies, as well as to the Company’s corporate culture and values.
In 2024, the corporate education programme was delivered in two hybrid formats: distance learning and face-to-face learning. As part of the festival, students took part in quests, quizzes, careers workshops, training sessions and test competition tasks.
Based on the results of the competitive selection process, 100 finalists were chosen to take part in the case championship across five profile areas: Geological Knowledge, Oil and Gas Business, Geophysical Methods of Field Exploration, Environmental Protection, and Economic Aspects and Management in the Oil and Gas Industry. Working under the guidance of professors from St. Petersburg State University, the participants formed teams and collaborated on case studies, developing innovative approaches and solutions to scientific and technical problems relevant to the Company. They then presented their work to Rosneft experts.
As part of Rosneft Day at St. Petersburg State University, students met with representatives from the Company’s HR department at a job fair at the end of the festival, where they had the opportunity to ask questions. Based on the results of the event, students will be able to undertake practical training and internships with Rosneft’s subsidiaries, which could lead to further employment.
The Company is actively working to develop a pool of young external talent in the regions where it operates. The School–College–Enterprise system of continuous education, established in 2005, has contributed to the effective implementation of youth policy. The first stage of this system involves organising Rosneft classes in the best educational institutions, such as schools, lyceums and gymnasiums. Rosneft classes are currently held in 56 schools across 20 regions of the Russian Federation and are attended by around 2,700 students.
