Angarsk Petrochemical Company (part of Rosneft’s refining complex) won the 6th national Reliable Partner in Ecology contest for leading regional environmental practices. ANHK was awarded a certificate for implementing an environmentally friendly base for drilling fluids for oil production companies in the Best Promising Project and Development category.
ANHK began producing this innovative product this year. Rosneft Drilltec B2LH drilling fluids have improved environmental performance due to their low-viscosity hydrocarbon base. ANHK’s production capacity exceeds 2,000 tonnes per month.
Thanks to new technology developed by Rosneft, ANHK, RN-Lubricants and the Corporate Research Institute in Moscow, the content of aromatic hydrocarbons in Rosneft Drilltec B2LH drilling fluid has been reduced to 0.8%, while the sulphur content has been reduced to 2 ppm. This innovative fluid can be used in cold climates, as it solidifies below -40°C. Other characteristics of improved drilling fluids include a high flash point, low plastic viscosity and safety for flora and fauna.
Introducing the best practices and new technologies is one of the Rosneft Strategy’s key priorities. Environmental protection is an integral part of Rosneft Oil Company’s corporate culture and one of its core business principles. The Company aims to become a leader in minimising its environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.
Angarsk Petrochemical Company invests in major projects aimed at reducing its environmental impact, improving wastewater purification and reducing production waste. Angarsk petrochemists implement measures to preserve the environment for future generations.
In recent years, the company has released tens of thousands of peled fry from the whitefish family into the Bratsk Reservoir. For two consecutive years, the company has been replenishing the population of sturgeon, listed in the Red Book of Russia, in Lake Baikal.
ANHK volunteers carry out environmental activities such as plogging (eco-running), organising clean-ups to improve the city and local waterways, planting trees, and collecting plastic and waste batteries for recycling.
ANHK’s vigorous environmental protection activities have won high-level awards on multiple occasions. Not only has ANHK become the laureate of the national Reliable Partner in Ecology contest for the third time, it has also been among the winners of the national Leader of Environmental Protection Activities contest twice. Another notable achievement was the ANHK sanitary laboratory’s second-place finish in the Water and Air Objects category of the national Golden Z-Index contest for environmental monitoring quality.
