Rosneft Helps to Modernise the Accreditation Centre of the Yugra Medical Academy

31 March 2025

Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft’s largest producing assets, provided financial support for the modernisation of one of the key units of the Khanty-Mansiysk State Medical Academy — the Simulation and Accreditation Centre. The project was implemented under an agreement between Rosneft and the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra.

With the modernisation of the centre, the number of specialities for training and accreditation has been increased from 19 to 24. The centre is equipped with six transformer stations for unbiased clinical examination. Up to 500 doctors can be accredited and have their qualifications validated each year.

As part of the project, the Medical Academy was provided with a comprehensive range of modern training equipment. For example, a simulator with real-time feedback allows resuscitation skills to be practised.

The Academy has also created a virtual operational unit that is as close as possible to real-life conditions. In this room, students and residents can practice sequences of endoscopic procedures and automatically receive an independent assessment of their surgical performance.

Future doctors had access to a state-of-the-art laparoscopic simulator with 17 training modules and more than 70 hands-on tasks. The simulator programme includes didactic material with 3D anatomical models, video recordings of real operations and interactive instructions with the ability to assess the correctness of the manipulations.

The centre’s rooms are equipped with additional medical equipment, specialised furniture, computers and an audio and video surveillance system, allowing them to be used effectively in the training process. More than 400 students and residents are trained each year at the medical academy centre as part of the core training programme.

Rosneft is committed to the principles of social responsibility and traditionally pays special attention to creating a favourable social environment in the regions of operation. Thanks to the Company’s support, projects are regularly implemented to strengthen the material and technical base of health facilities.

For reference:

Samotlorneftegaz is one of Rosneft’s main production enterprises. It operates in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District — Yugra. The enterprise develops Russia’s largest Samotlor field, discovered in 1965.

Under the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the Government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra, the enterprise helps to provide modern equipment to the region’s educational institutions. For example, the Multidisciplinary College of the Yugra State University has set up training laboratories for assessing the chemical and physical quality of oil and gas and for oil and gas processing; the Nizhnevartovsk Branch of the Tyumen Industrial University has opened a computer room with an interactive simulator of well development and operation, and has set up laboratories for the physical and chemical study of oil and gas, as well as for electrical engineering and electronics. A crude distillation unit simulator was also purchased for the YSU Petroleum Institute, and a project to introduce a geospatial technology laboratory was implemented at the Nizhnevartovsk Construction College.
