RN-Purneftegaz Produced 120 Billionth Cubic Meter of Gas

18 June 2021

The cumulative gas production of RN-Purneftegaz reached 120 bcm. The enterprise is a major centre of Rosneft's hydrocarbon production in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District and is engaged in production operation at 9 fields.

The effective geological and technical performance and drilling of new gas wells at the Barsukovskoye and Gubkinskoye fields ensure high gas production rates. Prospects for gas and condensate production increase are associated with the Jurassic deposits of the Barsukovskoye field.

RN-Purneftegaz successfully implemented the measures of the target gas programme, due to which the level of rational use of associated petroleum gas is about 99%, one of the highest indicators in the industry. As a part of the programme, compressor stations at the Komsomolskoye, Ust-Kharampurskoye, and Kharampurskoye fields, as well as the associated gas gathering system at the Barsukovskaya group of fields, were commissioned. All facilities of the gas programme are equipped with modern equipment with automatic control of production processes.

Associated petroleum gas and natural gas from the Barsukovskoye, Komsomolskoye, and Tarasovskoye fields are delivered to gas treatment and compression facilities, where it is treated for the market. The existing infrastructure allows redistribution of gas flows between consumers.

The fraction of light hydrocarbons is separated at the boosting compressor station of the Komsomolskoye field in the process of gas treatment by low-temperature separation and sold to consumers as a separate product.

Processed gas from the Tarasovskoye field is also used as fuel for the Tarasovskaya gas engine power plant (GEPP) with a capacity of 52 MW.

Note for Editors:

Purneftegaz Production Association was founded 35 years ago to develop a group of oil and gas fields in the subpolar zone of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. Gubkinsky was built as a base settlement, mainly by the oil workers.

The fields developed by the company are characterized by a high level of oil and gas potential with alternation of oil, oil and gas, gas, and gas condensate deposits.
