Corporate Events

Annually, three large-scale multi-stage corporate events are held in the Company. It is the Best in Profession professional skills competition, Spartakiad (summer and winter), and the Rosneft Lights the Stars arts festival.

The Best in Profession professional skills competition is a part of the motivation system. It helps to single out and encourage enterprising and promising employees, contributes to the growth of the professional skills of the Company's employees, as well as promotes the dissemination of the best practices, the introduction of new technologies, the enhancement of the prestige of blue-collar professions, production culture, and responsibility for trouble-free operation.

In 2017, the 13th Contest was attended by more than 900 employees from more than 100 Group Companies. The events took place at the Company's production facilities located in the cities of Krasnodar and Tuapse.

The contest evaluated both theoretical and practical skills of the participants. Special attention was paid to knowledge in the field of industrial and fire safety, as well as labor protection. For seven days, participants competed in 26 nominations in the areas of oil and gas production, oil refining and oil products supply.

Champions and prize-winners of the contest were awarded diplomas and money certificates. The contestants who did not win any prize but demonstrated their skills during the test, were awarded diplomas in the following nominations: "Will to Win," "Passion for the Profession," "Successful Debut," "Creative Approach."

For many years, PJSC NK Rosneft has been carrying out extensive work to develop sport and promote healthy lifestyle both in the regions of presence and among the Company’s employees. The Winter and Summer Spartakiads are held annually.

Totally in 2017, taking into account the team formation stage, 25 thousand employees from 92 Group Companies took part in the Spartakiads.

The 7th Winter Spartakiad was organized in Ufa at the Ufa Sports Palace and the Biathlon Sports and Fitness Center, where 440 athletes from 25 teams consisting of employees of  the Company's subsidiaries and central office competed for medals. The athletes competed in four sports: hockey, speed skating, ski races and sleigh relay races. The winners of team competitions were the debutants of the Rosneft Spartakiad, the athletes from the PJSC ANK Bashneft team. The silver award was won by the Samaraneftegaz team. The bronze was won by the last year’s champion, the Angara united team.

As part of the Summer Spartakiad in 2017, more than 780 athletes from 20 teams of the Group Companies representing nine territorial zones from Khabarovsk to Ryazan took part in the final stage in Sochi. Competitions were held in 10 sports disciplines: arena football, basketball, volleyball, tug-of-war, table tennis, chess, power biathlon, track and field, Russian pyramid, and bowling. The Spartakiad was won by the Samaraneftegaz team; Angara placed second, and the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery took the bronze.

Rosneft Lights the Stars Festival

In 2017, the 7th Rosneft Lights the Stars corporate festival was held, attracting more than 6 thousand participants. Within the framework of the festival,  contestants traditionally perform in various categories for the audience and the jury to judge: vocal and choreographic art, instrumental and variety circus genres, artistic skill and photography. In 2017, qualifying rounds were held in 117 Group Companies; zonal stages were held in Ufa, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, Tuapse, and Moscow. Employees of PJSC ANK Bashneft and JSC Targin took part in the festival for the first time.

The final competitive stage took place in the COSMOS Hotel concert hall. During three days, the professional panel judged more than 100 performances and works in nominations for three age categories, from 7 to 12 years, from 13 to 17 years, and from 18 years and older.

All the performances had something in common - innovative ideas and high level of performance. Every year, participants of the competition improve their skills significantly, while the Festival becomes an increasingly important cultural event that unites different generations of oilers, different cities and regions of the country.

The festival culminated in a Gala concert on the Day of Oilers, which had a format of a theatrical tour through the regions of the Company's presence. The guests were presented with many stories having a common narrative, the unity of Rosneft teams and the friendship of the festival participants.

Participation in the Worldskills National Championship of Vocational Skills. 

Since 2015, PJSC NK Rosneft has taken part in the WorldSkills Hi-Tech National Championship of Cross-Industry Professions in High-Tech Industries in the Laboratory Chemical Analysis competence area.

In order to popularize vocational professions and improve the level of training in accordance with international standards, the second corporate championship of PJSC NK Rosneft was held in 2017  in the Laboratory Chemical Analysis competence area according to the Worldskills standards.

The Championship, held at the corporate production site in Novokuybyshevsk, was attended by 29 chemical analysis laboratory assistants and 33 experts, employees of 32 oil refining and petrochemical plants of the Company.

Prizewinners of the Championship got the right to represent the Company at the Fourth WorldSkills Hi-Tech National Championship of Cross-Industry Professions in High-Tech Industries, which was held in the fall of 2017 in Ekaterinburg. As a result of the competition, the young specialist of Saratov Refinery PJSC took the third place in the Laboratory Chemical Analysis competence area.
