Yurubcheno-Tokhoma Development Plan Passed State Expert Examination

East Siberian Oil and Gas Company (ESOGC) received approval of the State Expert Examination Committee for the design of integrated field facilities at the pioneer section of the Yurubcheno-Tokhoma Field in the Krasnoyarsk Region including crude oil export facilities.

The field is planned to be developed in several stages. At the first stage which is expected to continue till 2013, new development wells will be drilled and field infrastructure facilities will be constructed. Key focus at this stage will be the construction of an approximately 600 km oil pipeline to Taishet, Irkutsk Region, by which oil will be transported to the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean trunk pipeline and further to Asian-Pacific markets.

At present, the Yurubcheno-Tokhoma Field is in the test production (28 000 t produced in 2008). Main users of produced oil are local utility companies and gold producers in the North Yenisey and Evenkia districts.

Background

The Yurubcheno-Tokhoma Oil and Gas Condensate Field (Yurubchen Licence Block) is located in the Evenkia District, Krasnoyarsk Region, in the southwestern part of Central Siberian Plateau in the interstream area of the Angara and Podkamennaya Tunguska rivers. Established in 1994, East Siberian Oil and Gas Company (ESOGC) currently holds licences for geological survey of and hydrocarbon production from the Urubchen Block and Agaleev Gas Field (Agaleev acreage).

At present, ESOGC continues exploration of the field. According to current estimates, the Yurubchen Block has 513.4 mln t of oil and 660 bcm of gas recoverable reserves and resources.

Apart from the Yurubchen Block, Rosneft has licences for 6 blocks in the southern Krasnoyarsk Region.
