Overview
Rosneft is present almost in all Russian oil and gas producing regions — West and East Siberia, the Far East, the North Caucasus, Timan-Pechora, the Volga-Urals region, on the shelves of the Black, Caspian, and Azov Seas, and on Kamchatka shelf.
The Company operates a huge and unrivalled reserve base. As of year-end 2007, Rosneft’s total proved, probable, and possible oil and gas reserves under SPE classification were nearly 49 bln. barrels of oil equivalent, among the highest for a publicly traded petroleum company worldwide. Rosneft is also the global leader in terms of proved liquid hydrocarbon reserves.
Rosneft’s active participation in numerous exploration projects ensures further expansion of its reserve base. As of year-end 2007, aggregate prospective resources of upstream projects involving the Company were estimated at more than 75 bln. barrels of oil equivalent.
Rosneft is the largest oil producer in Russia and ranks among the top ten publicly traded global oil companies in terms of crude output. The Company’s average daily crude oil production in 2007 amounted to 2.03 mln. barrels. In Q1 2008, this indicator reached 2.12 mln. barrels. Rosneft is also among the leading independent national gas producers. In 2007, the Company’s gas output totaled 15.7 bcm.
Unlike many of its competitors, Rosneft has a diverse portfolio of high-quality oil and gas assets, which allows the Company to secure rapid and stable cost-effective growth in the short, medium, and long term.
