Arkhangelsk and Belokamenka
Rosneft’s Arkhangelsk oil loading terminal and Belokamenka floating oil terminal in Northwestern Russia are a major transshipment junction for exporting crude oil produced by the Company’s subsidiary Severnaya Neft in Timan-Pechora. Crude oil is first transported from Severnaya Neft’s fields via the Transneft pipelines, and is then reloaded at the Privodino station for rail shipment to the Arkhangelsk terminal. Next, crude oil is delivered by shuttle tankers from the Arkhangelsk terminal to the Belokamenka floating oil terminal permanently anchored in the ice-free Kola Bay for further shipment to Europe and the United States. This transportation scheme enables Rosneft to overcome certain capacity constraints of the Transneft pipeline system in the Russian Northwest.
Belokamenka’s oil transshipment capacity amounts to 12 mln tonnes (88 mln barrels) per year. In 2008, Rosneft exported 1.53 mln tonnes (11.2 mln. barrels) of its crude oil via the Arkhangelsk-Belokamenka transshipment system. The system was also used for the transhipment of 14.6 mln barrels (2.0 mln tonnes) of third party crude oil.
