Regional Social and Economic Development
Rosneft’s relations with local governments are based on mutually beneficial cooperation. Contributing to social and economic development of Russian regions has always been among the key aspects of the Company’s social policy. Spending under regional socioeconomic development agreements makes up a major portion of Rosneft’s total social expenditure. Socioeconomic development agreements provide for continuous improvement of regional infrastructure, including the construction of roads, schools, healthcare facilities, cultural and sports facilities, etc.
Rosneft is committed to constantly expanding its involvement in social and economic development of the regions, and particularly of those localities where the Company’s enterprises are the major employers. In 2010, Rosneft’s total spending on regional social and economic development was RUB 1.88 bln.
