HSSE Management

Rosneft has implemented the Integrated Management System for industrial and occupational safety and environmental protection, which is certified to ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999. To ensure efficient operation and continuous development of the Integrated Management System, Rosneft has also introduced 17 corporate standards covering the system’s all core functionalities. Every year compliance certification audit is performed at Rosneft by Bureau Veritas Certification.

Training and knowledge sharing

Rosneft seeks to regularly deliver HSSE training to all of its employees, which ensures their high professional competence and integrity. The Company holds quarterly meetings in different host regions where performance and planning discussions are complemented by training to improve the Integrated Management System. In addition, Rosneft subsidiaries organize regular test site training for their employees.

In selecting training services providers, the Company takes account of various aspects of its upstream and downstream operations in different geographical areas. In professional training and knowledge sharing, Rosneft closely cooperates with leading Russian and international companies.

Environmental legislation compliance

Procedures to assess environmental legislation compliance are part of the Company’s Integrated Management System and regulated by the Company’s Standard, On Providing Employees with Legal and Other Regulatory Requirements.

In addition, Rosneft has established a specialized workgroup to deal with resource use and environmental safety issues.

Hazardous operations insurance

In accordance with Russian law, Rosneft and its subsidiaries carry hazardous operations insurance against risks of injury, occupational illness, property damage or adverse environmental impacts resulting from industrial accidents.
