Industrial and Occupational Safety

Rosneft strives to create a safe and healthy working environment for its employees, as well as to reduce the risk of industrial accidents and other mishaps. Seeking to minimize accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses, the Company continuously adopts global best practices in the area of industrial and occupational safety.

The Company employees regularly participate in training programs to share knowledge and experience on labor safety and injury prevention. In addition, Rosneft actively collaborates with governments at all levels and public organization on various issues of industrial and occupational safety.

Rosneft pays particular attention to reducing industrial injuries. In 2008, the injury rate per million hours worked at the Company and its subsidiaries decreased to 0.22, down 15.4% compared to the previous year, and the fatal injury rate was 2.8 times lower as compared with 2007.
